Bagel Café ,246 Duckworth St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador

Who doesn’t like brunch, or lunch or dinner!!? The Bagel Café does it all (including breakfast). My family have been going to this place for years, but only now, have I had the opportunity to blog about it.

This café has so much character, the décor is hard to describe, maybe whimsical ? eclectic ? random ? it is really a hodgepodge of the owners tastes I am assuming. In most sections it is cramped and segmented , certainly not open concept. The space do work, unless you are claustrophobic , and if that’s the case ask for a table upstairs.

On this visit with my wife and daughter we tried some waffles and omelets. My wife Lisa had the Mixed Berry Banana Belgium waffle. Plenty of food, huge waffles, plenty of berries and banana and of course loads of bacon for a very fair price.

I love a good omelet and the Bagel Café never disappoints. This beast of a plate had crispy potatoes, toast and of course a Spanish Omelet, peppers, salsa, onion and cheese. To be honest it could be shared, it is a lot of food, the potatoes are delicious, herbed and crispy goodness. Toast is , well toast, and the omelet was packed with flavour. Eggs tasty, peppers and tomatoes were light and balanced with the cheese. Pure comfort food for sure.

Food Review

4.4 out of 5

Price point

$$$ out of $$$$$ ($84.00 tax and gratuity included. 3 persons including tea, coffee and gratuity )

This place is a go to, just understand at the lower level your space will be limited, but will be your own space, but tight.
