There is something awesome about this latest food truck trend. It is not just premade fries, store-bought burger patties and onion rings, not that there is anything wrong with those guys. These new trucks have taken the food truck experience to a new level. Hand crafted burgers, fresh crispy chicken and perfectly cooked fries are just some of what you can get in the city of St. John’s NL.
I visited Square Burger Food Truck the other day , I saw their Facebook post about two
new burgers on the menu for a limited time. One was a peanut burger, I detest peanut butter, so I
passed on that, BUT “The Truffle Chicken-Caesar” was right up my alley! I love crispy chicken and my
favorite salad in the world is a creamy Caesar, so this was a win win situation.
Firstly, the truck is eye catching, bright orange and yellow (sunburst?) , fantastic Square Burger Logo
seemed to invite you to take a closer look. There was a assortment of menu items to choose from but I
was there for “The Truffle Chicken-Caesar”!!
It was around 2 pm on a Friday afternoon so the lunch crowd were gone, the wait time was about 10-15
minutes which was great. There was still a steady flow of patrons, but my burger was served in a timely
manner.
The Truffle Chicken-Caesar!!
This chicken burger had a nice crunch, the flavours were balanced, the creaminess of the lettuce and
house made Black Truffle Mayo was delicious. The Caesar flavour was there, but not too powerful, the
chicken did not get lost with all the sauce. The garlicy truffle mayo was very complex, it made a great
chicken burger seemed refined.
